The World Health Organisation (WHO) “World Patient Safety Day” is celebrated annually on September 17

The World Health Organization‘s World Patient Safety Day recognises the key role patients, families and caregivers play in the safety of health care. Evidence increasingly shows that when patients become partners in their care, significant gains are made in terms not only of safety, but also patient satisfaction and health outcomes.

Pulmonary hypertension patients will see their health care provider for check-ups maybe 3-4 times a year but the remainder of the time they are on their own and the ability to self-manage and navigate day-to-day challenges becomes crucial.

The Pulmonary Hypertension Knowledge Sharing Platform features over 400 resources, in different formats and languages, which patients and family members can access in order to improve their knowledge about pulmonary hypertension and help them to make informed choices about their care.
