Novel PET approach may help to identify early signs of pulmonary arterial hypertension, Journal of Nuclear Medicine, January 2025

A new molecular imaging technique called18F-FAPI Positron Emission Tomography (PET) has been shown to be able to detect the first signs of the tissue remodeling typical of patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension and could provide physicians with an early marker for disease progression. This approach has the potential to pave the way for more personalized management of pulmonary arterial hypertension, offering more timely interventions to improve patient prognosis.
