20 Latin American patient advocacy groups, including for pulmonary hypertension, are speaking at the most important scientific event of respiratory health in Latin America, “SAREAL”

The Respiratory Health, Allergy, and Atopy Summit (“SAREAL” as it reads its acronym in Spanish) brings together organizations working for chronic respiratory diseases (prevalent and rare), allergic, and atopic conditions to explore the underlying connection and commonalities. This year it is taking place on August 11 and 12 in Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic. It will bring together more than 20 Latin American Patient Advocacy Groups, and two sessions hosted by patient advocates and feature patient advocates as speakers.

The two sessions are about access to treatment and the importance of information. The moderator is Migdalia Denis, President of the Pulmonary Hypertension Latin Society (Sociedad Latina de Hipertensión Pulmonar, SLHP) and one of the speakers is Dina Grajales, from the Colombian Pulmonary Hypertension association, representing also the SLHP.

Migdalia Denis invites patients to register and spread the word: “I have 20 years working for the health of patients in Latin America, and it is the first time that we have the opportunity to be in the largest and most important scientific event of respiratory health in Latin America. And it is free for patients!”
