In 2023-24, the Alliance for Pulmonary Hypertension organized 14 successful live webinars that brought together leading experts to discuss key topics in pulmonary hypertension management, research, and patient support. The series featured speakers from 20 countries across five continents, including 24 scientific experts, 13 patients and patient advocates, and two patient engagement specialists who moderated the sessions and encouraged open dialogue.
To make this knowledge widely available, all webinar materials—slides, video recordings, and full transcripts—are accessible on this platform, creating a valuable resource for the PH community worldwide. Thanks to an embedded translation plugin, the transcripts can be read in 40 different languages directly on the website.
NEW FORMAT
For 2025, the Alliance is introducing a new format of quarterly live webinars that will cover the most recent developments, ideas, and initiatives in pulmonary hypertension from the previous three months. Each session will combine expert presentations with open discussions, creating an environment where participants can actively engage, share experiences, and learn from each other.
To make these sessions as relevant as possible, we will reach out to the community before each webinar, inviting them to submit questions, suggest topics, and share specific challenges they would like to see addressed. This approach will ensure our content remains closely aligned with the community’s needs and interests while keeping everyone updated on the latest advances in pulmonary hypertension care.
NEW FEATURES
The new quarterly webinar format introduces several features designed to enhance the learning experience. The sessions will now run for two hours, allowing time for more comprehensive discussions and deeper exploration of topics. Understanding that participants have different interests and time constraints, the format allows for flexible attendance – community members can join for specific segments that are most relevant to them. To ensure truly global accessibility, we offer simultaneous translation and live captions in 60 languages.
As with our previous webinars, all materials – including presentation slides, video recordings, transcripts, and key takeaways – will be made available on the Pulmonary Hypertension Knowledge Sharing Platform shortly after each session.
AGENDA ITEMS
The webinar series will maintain a flexible and adaptable framework to incorporate emerging trends, breakthrough discoveries, and unforeseen developments in research and clinical practice. While a preliminary agenda has been established, the schedule remains responsive to accommodate developments that may arise in this rapidly evolving field.
Dr. Hans Klose, Head of the Pulmonology Department at the University Medical Center, Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany, Prof. Marc Humbert, Director of the French National Pulmonary Hypertension Centre–both members of the Alliance for Pulmonary Hypertension Scientific Committee–and Prof. Sandeep Sahay, Associate Professor of Medicine, Director, Pulmonary hypertension program, Houston Methodist Hospital, Houston, Texas, USA, have kindly accepted to speak at our inaugural webinar about scientific “hot topics” for 2025, but some speaker slots are still available.
