Quince Therapeutics, Inc., a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of novel, disease modifying therapies for serious underserved diseases, has announced that it has changed its name to IRulya Therapeutics Inc. IRulya will be focused on advancing LAM-001, an investigational formulation of inhaled rapamycin (mTOR inhibitor) for multiple pulmonary diseases.
LAM-001 is a potentially first in class, one puff, once daily, dry powder inhaled (DPI) formulation of rapamycin that targets the lungs while limiting exposure elsewhere in the body. It blocks a cell-growth pathway that is overactive in several lung diseases. The company is testing it in three conditions:
- Pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD) (about 200,000 patients in the United States and Europe): Phase 2b results are expected in early 2028.
- Bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome after lung transplant (no approved therapy): Phase 2 results are expected in early 2027.
- Sarcoidosis-associated pulmonary hypertension (no approved therapy): a Phase 2 study starts in late 2026, with results expected in late 2028.
