In a TEDx talk Migdalia Denis, Leader of the Pulmonary Hypertension Latin Society, explores the transformative power of adversity and how it can lead us to discover our true purpose

Migdalia Denis, leader of the Latin America Pulmonary Hypertension Association (Sociedad Latina de Hipertensión Pulmonar), was invited on May 18, 2018, to deliver a TEDx talk. Migdalia has recently sent us the link to her talk and asked us to share it on the PH-KSP, in the hope that her message may inspire others to embrace the fight for life and resilience.

Titled “Cómo en la adversidad podemos encontrar nuestros sueños y propósitos” (“How in adversity we can fulfill our dreams and purpose”), Migdalia’s talk highlights her personal journey with pulmonary hypertension. Through her story, Migdalia explores the transformative power of adversity and how it can lead us to discover our dreams and purpose.

Migdalia, born in the impoverished rural village of Galipán in Venezuela, holds a degree in Public Accounting with a specialization in Marketing. In March 2001, she received a life-changing diagnosis of Pulmonary Hypertension. Faced with limited treatment options in her country, Migdalia made the courageous decision to leave in pursuit of better opportunities. Despite the daunting circumstances and minimal hope, Migdalia discovered an extraordinary inner strength she was unaware of—a “magic” that empowered her. Today, she shares her story through powerful and inspirational lectures.
