The aim of this booklet is to help people diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension, and those around them, to better understand the journey that the disease entails, from the uncertainty associated with the appearance of the first symptoms to coming to terms with the diagnosis and a new life with the disease. It is not an easy journey and, despite the huge progress made in pulmonary hypertension care over the past 30 years, life with pulmonary hypertension remains challenging for patients and their families and carers from a physical, practical, psychological and social point of view. This booklet looks at the impact of the disease on mental well being and provides advice for day-to-day life.
