The UK Pulmonary Hypertension Association launched a survey on nutrition and pulmonary arterial hypertension last year in March in which they asked patients about eating habits, food preferences, and cooking or weight management challenges. The findings were announced at the Pulmonary Vascular Research Institute (PVRI)’s congress in January 2024 and, more recently, on social media.
There were over 600 responses to the questionnaire, which was the the first of its kind in the UK. As well as statistics, this report shares some of the comments left by respondents, which
provide important insights into the issue of nutrition in pulmonary arterial hypertension patients in the UK.
The PHA UK responded to the findings by producing advice materials that address the things
respondents mentioned as being those that they needed the most support with.
